Shark Solution From Down Under

San Clemente (UPI) - San Onofre State Park officials confirmed today that the first shipment of salt water crocodiles will be arriving from Australia in time for the July 4th holiday weekend at San Onofre. The Parks Department is importing salt water crocodiles as an environmentally friendly approach to controlling the Great White shark problem at San Onofre.

“We looked into chemical approaches to the problem – chemicals to drive the sharks away, but surveys show that our visitors are concerned about the amount of chemicals that they are exposed to” says Park Superintendent Chalmers. “Our staff was familiar with the goats used to control weeds in Laguna Beach. Using the salt water crocodile was an obvious solution to our shark problem. The Great White shark has few predators, but luckily these large crocodiles are higher on the food chain.”

The Superintendent says that he expects that complaints about sharks will drop off once the crocodiles get to work.
