3. Be sure that "safe search" is turned off.
4. Search for "San-O Daze" (quotation marks not necessary).
5. It is also interesting to add (to the terms "San-O Daze") your name, the name of one of the San-O Daze bloggers, or the name of someone you know.

You can get a real hodgepodge of images that have appeared at San-O Daze, and through the magic of Google, even some that haven't.

Jesse Jackson Drops The "N" Bomb.

The same Jesse Jackson who called on the entertainment industry, including rappers, to stop using the N-Word, and who also urged the public to BOYCOTT the DVD set of "Seinfeld" after Michael Richards was taped using the word during a rant at a Los Angeles comedy club in 2006 - 8 years after after the TV series was over, used the N-Word himself when referring to blacks when he said Obama was telling them how to behave.

Story here, and, later today, EVERYWHERE.

Complying With The New Ban On Nudity At San Onofre

NUDE:
1. Having no clothing; naked.
2. Permitting or featuring full exposure of the body.

Nude means NO clothing. None. Nada. Zero.
Full exposure means FULL Exposure. Total. Everything.

My client was NOT NUDE.

I think

The thought ‘I exist’ is not the same thing as the awareness of one’s own existence. Thought is not the same thing as consciousness. ~ Jacob Needleman

The Dog Days of San Onofre

In time, one becomes oblivious to the constants in ones environment.
Remember that scene from the Blues Brothers where Jake inquires of Elwood about the train that roars by a few feet from Elwood’s apartment?
Jake: How often does the train go by?
Elwood: So often you won't even notice it.

For those of you who go to San Onofre often, this scene of a few surfers and the gentle sound of the waves will be common to you. For the rest of you, you’ll notice something else.

Stacking The Deck

My client recently put in a new brick deck, building it himself. The County of Orange wouldn't approve the construction. Instead, they cited him for eleven building code violations, including that the bricks were not level, there was no provision for drainage (this part of Capistrano Beach being susceptible to cliff erosion), there was no railing at the edge of the deck, etc.

I arranged for a meeting with a senior building inspector on Monday. I explained that the deck wasn't a deck so much as it was an artistic expression by my client -- It's not a deck, it's art! I brought him some photographs that showed the deck in the right light so that the artistic aspects of the design of the bricks could be more properly appreciated. He approved the construction after reviewing the photographs and taking a duplicate set of the photos for his file. Here's one of the photos from the set.

Clicking on the image for a full view shows more brick detail.

The Toll Road, The Right To Bear Arms, The Alcohol Ban, Free Speech, Gay Marriage, The Point, The Dirt Road

It's a privilege to be here in the USA, free to discuss and debate these issues, and others. As we celebrate our independence and the founding of our republic, I am mindful that this privilege is secured each day by men and women serving in our military.

I saw this picture of a U.S. Marine, from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, who was caught, without his helmet, by Taliban fire in Afghanistan on May 18, 2008. Obviously, he did not hesitate to stand up with the others in his squad and return fire. It reminded me of the sacrifices that those serving in our military make for all our citizens.

He was not hit and is okay.

Free Speech Prevails

First, the Second Amendment is upheld. Second, the First Amendment is upheld. Last week was good week for Freedom.

KTLA reports that a federal judge has ordered Caltrans to restore "Adopt-A-Highway" signs crediting an anti-illegal-immigration group on a busy segment of Interstate 5 near the San Onofre immigration check station.

District Court Judge William Q. Hayes has given the state transportation agency 30 days to restore the sign and allow the Minutemen to resume picking up trash along two miles of the busy freeway on Camp Pendleton, the North County Times reports.

In a 34-page order released Friday, the judge ruled that the San Diego Minutemen had shown that they stand a substantial chance of winning an eventual trial on the challenge to Caltrans' flip-flop on the issue last January.

The Minutemen were awarded the right to pick up trash -- and have their logo splashed on official signage -- near a checkpoint where federal agents occasionally stop vehicles to arrest persons in the country illegally. Immigrants rights group protested, and the state told the Minutemen they would have to move to a lesser-travelled section of Highway 52 near Miramar.

Caltrans eventually removed that section of Interstate 5 from the volunteer litter program completely. Last week, Caltrans suspended all new Adopt-A-Highway applications.

Judge Hayes said in his order that the Caltrans justification for ousting the Minutemen was not reasonable, and there is "little, if any, evidence" that the Minutemen's participation would endanger the public, the North County Times reported.

We went to San Onofre to escape the heat this weekend, but it was too hot even there. Luckily, one of the locals at Surf Beach shared his RV and we watched movies in air conditioned comfort.

I like her quote about not having a boyfriend:

"It takes a very special type of person to be with someone who looks like me because of the reactions I get from people whenever I'm out in public."

That's probably reason number seven on the short list of why you don't have a boyfriend. First on the list is what is going on inside your head.

Shark Solution From Down Under

San Clemente (UPI) - San Onofre State Park officials confirmed today that the first shipment of salt water crocodiles will be arriving from Australia in time for the July 4th holiday weekend at San Onofre. The Parks Department is importing salt water crocodiles as an environmentally friendly approach to controlling the Great White shark problem at San Onofre.

“We looked into chemical approaches to the problem – chemicals to drive the sharks away, but surveys show that our visitors are concerned about the amount of chemicals that they are exposed to” says Park Superintendent Chalmers. “Our staff was familiar with the goats used to control weeds in Laguna Beach. Using the salt water crocodile was an obvious solution to our shark problem. The Great White shark has few predators, but luckily these large crocodiles are higher on the food chain.”

The Superintendent says that he expects that complaints about sharks will drop off once the crocodiles get to work.

Sorry For The Obstructions

I was trying to get some pictures of the clouds that were over San-O on Sunday.

She always gets in front of the camera when I'm trying to get some pictures of cloud formations, mountain ranges, and, as I think about it, just about anything. If I complain, she starts taking off her clothes. I don't know what to do with her.
